Role Overview & Impact

As a Technical Product Manager Intern at Focus Bear, you’ll help decide what we build—and why. You’ll lead deep dives into user analytics (via PostHog and our database) to uncover patterns, pain points, and opportunities. From there, you’ll turn insights into clear product requirements, collaborating with designers and developers to shape features that are technically feasible and genuinely helpful for neurodivergent users.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific Tasks

  • Query PostHog and our internal database to understand user engagement and identify friction points.

  • Translate data insights into Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) with technical details, success metrics, and edge cases.

  • Collaborate with developers to assess technical feasibility and scope quick wins versus complex builds.

  • Partner with UX designers to develop intuitive and buildable feature solutions.

  • Apply RICE scoring (Reach, Impact, Confidence, Effort) to prioritise upcoming sprint items.

  • Break large projects into clearly scoped, achievable tasks.

  • Participate in refinement sessions to clarify product needs and unblock developers.

  • Review completed features for technical completeness and usability before release.

Key Objectives

  • Apply technical and analytical thinking to support smart, user-centered product decisions.

  • Help deliver features that solve real user problems with minimal technical overhead.

  • Develop structured approaches to trade-offs, feasibility estimation, and impact assessment.

Position Benefits

  • Gain hands-on experience with real-world analytics, product scoping, and agile delivery.

  • Learn how to write effective, developer-ready PRDs.

  • Work on features that serve thousands of neurodivergent users across multiple platforms.

  • Build confidence working across cross-functional teams (dev, design, QA).

Team Description

You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with engineers, UX designers, and QA interns. Your product decisions and documentation will shape the development and improvement of Focus Bear’s core functionality.

Skills Required

  • Comfortable with product analytics tools (e.g., PostHog) and SQL-like queries.

  • Solid understanding of software development concepts (APIs, data structures, versioning).

  • Clear and structured written communication.

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

  • Interest in inclusive UX and behavioural design.

Typical Week

  • Pull and review analytics data to spot trends and friction areas.

  • Draft and revise PRDs with feedback from dev and design.

  • Score feature ideas using RICE and assist in prioritisation.

  • Lead async refinement sessions and address developer questions.

  • Coordinate usability tests or validate assumptions using user data.

  • Document and evaluate shipped features and their outcomes.

Skills Development

You’ll strengthen your product decision-making through real-world exposure to analytics, agile planning, and technical collaboration. Expect to refine your abilities in data-driven prioritisation, clear spec writing, and balancing user needs with engineering constraints.

Internship Nature

This is a high-impact, technical product internship where you’ll help shape live features based on analytics—not assumptions. You’ll be central to ensuring Focus Bear builds the right tools to support users with ADHD and Autism.
